Sibylle Baltzer lives and works in Marrakech. Her story begins in London in the 1990s. After a foundation course at the Blackheath School of Arts, she begins a bachelor's degree at Chelsea School of Arts in 1996. There, she meets the artists who are her teachers, David Ryan, Noel Forster, Andrew Stahl, Mali Morris. They will support her in her artistic practice and encourage her to do a Masters at the Slade School of Arts, under the direction of David Hepher, then Bruce Mc Lean. Recipient of the Adrian Carruthers workshop scholarship at the end of her Master's degree, she continued her practice at ACME studios in Deptford.

There she developed a body of work which is the heart of her practice, and consists of large abstract formats and assemblages. A first exhibition in Madrid, at the Centro de Arte Moderno (text by David Ryan) in 2004. She then travels south and sets up a studio in Morocco, near Marrakech in 2006, and begins a collaboration with the Gallery Rê. Two personal exhibitions in 2008 (Dust, with a text by Zoé Valdès) then Bubble Gum (catalogue with a text by David Ryan: The Freedom of Sensation, Bubble Gum) in 2010, and a personal exhibition at the Galerie Athanor curated by Jean Pierre Alis, in Marseille.

Sibylle has since exhibited at the CDG gallery in Rabat, the Villa Delaporte gallery in Casablanca, and at the Delacroix gallery in Tangier, an exhibition with Fatiha Zemmouri with a critical text written by Bernard Collet. Following a residency in Tahanaout in the artist Mohammed Mourabiti’s studios, her work is exhibited at the 1:54 fair in 2018 with Voice Gallery. A personal exhibition with Voice Gallery follows in April 2022.
Sibylle took part in the Caravanne Tighmert residency in 2018, collaborating with M’Barek Bouhchichi in a poetic installation in situ.
Her work now comprises large formats and ceramic works.
Since 2015, Sibylle has been teaching Art at ÉSAV Marrakech.
